Beware of scams when buying bird in classified ads

We warn you of current events from careless transfer of funds on Nummenkonten - scam!
Again and again we hear of an audacious but successful nonetheless scam: In Classifieds animals are offered to tempting low prices. Unsuspecting customers will be prompted to e-mail request to transfer a deposit to a numbered account (such as Western Union Bank). The cheater committs that the animal is then given by the seller at a specified date in a flight to a particular destination airport. However, there it will never arrive.
A defrauded client, Barbara K. of M. (47), wrote us recently. "We have now fallen for a fraud group. We remitted the requested amount for an offered parrot, to a Western Union number account. The parrot we never received. Fraudsters still had insolence to write us yesterday to we should even transmit additional 300 € because suddenly existed no import permit and one that wanted to raise it with this money. We already reported to the police and made a complaint. Even though we never get our money back I hope these bastards the craft is placed. I am very angry about my stupidity ... "
Another customer, Holger W. from Berlin writes on 10/06/2011: "A few days ago i saw an add in market website (2 Hyazinth macaws for free). This ad is a scam!! After I had been in contact i should pay 250 Eur for shipmment to the owner Ing. in Lxxxxx. When I offered to visit this Mr. Ing. in Lxxxxxx, because I would not buy a bird that I have not seen it the contact was aborted immediately. So is a similar scam as your warning . The add was acive some hours only and I've already found it in another animal market.

Another customer, Mr Rxxxxe writes on 22.12.2011. "You have very nice pictures in your website, I was recently tricked right over the Internet, I brought the case to the police and now you i see your warning at your site I like to warn al readers also it came too late for me, nothing despite my interest for more beautiful beautiful gray parrots is still Sincerely -. Rxxxxe "
We guess: your eyes open when buying parrot. And if in doubt pull rather an expert you trust for advice.
